Weigh In: Week 2

Friday, September 06, 2013

I was pleasantly surprised last night at weigh in…especially since I was slacking on my tracking over the holiday weekend. I managed to lose 1.8 pounds this week…including the holiday! I was amazed to say the least. I was really trying to listen to my body though and stop when I was full. One thing I still struggle with to this day is being a member of the “Clean Plate Club”. I know those of you around my age or even a little older will remember that. It is difficult. I have to admit the one thing that my husband does (he’s frugal and it helps here too) when we pick up food from a fast food restaurant is to NOT order a combo meal. We order whatever sandwich we each want and then split a large fry or onion rings. It keeps me from thinking I have to finish off the fries myself.
So, a new challenge has appeared…aside from the chocolate almonds that have been tempting me (I normally steer clear, but had 2 almonds yesterday)…there are now Mrs. Field’s cookies. Definitely going to have to try to keep my sweet tooth in check or bring things for myself that are lower in PointsPlus values/calories. I have been trying to use fruit as my “sweet” or my dessert. It seems to help. I can’t afford to let myself get too far out of control where those are concerned. One false move there and I can put on all the weight that I have just taken off. Currently I have taken off three boxes of butter and almost a fourth. I know I am a work in progress and it’ll happen. It just takes time.

So far, I am down 3.8 pounds.

Recommit Weight: 193.6; 08/22/2013
First Weigh in: 191.6, Loss 2.00; 08/30/2013
Second Weigh in: 189.8, Loss 1.8; 09/05/2013

With any luck, I’ll hit my first 5 pounds next week. I’m trying to take it back to basics with my eating so I’m hoping that it will help me and keep me motivated.

I LOVE your "boxes of butter" analogy. I will be keeping that one in mind.
Sounds like you are doing great! You're an inspiration!
