I walked today

Friday, September 06, 2013

I certainly did! I walked three times!

Well, we now have three groups in our team - Best Foot Forward - Beginner - Intermediate. I walked all three levels.

We have a task for our walks. Today it was to look for signs of the season. Well yesterday it was definitely summer and today was more like autumn, so those were the signs I looked for. I'll show you three

Delicious blackberries! There wasn't time to pick them, but there were so many I may go back tomorrow armed with a container.

Not edible, the berries from the wild honeysuckle. There were still a few flowers, but most of them have gone.

Lastly, the berries from the Rowan tree. These ARE edible, but are often too high to reach. This recipe has been recommended to me, but I think I'll be leaving them for the birds.

I stopped for a chat - but my friend wasn't really in the moooooood

As for this beauty, she was shy and turned away

It was cool enough for a coverup

but as I was walking briskly I opted to leave my coat at home. It was fresh, but a lovely day to walk.

All this walking around the lake has made me realise something, it is of no significance (or probably interest) whatsoever, but I thought it was interesting.....

I like walking round in an anticlockwise direction! I have tried to walk around the other way but it just doesn't feel right. So, Onwards and Upwards! And you can circle in whichever direction you like emoticon

Congrats on your team's progress. Nature walks are lovely. Do the berries you photograph represent any season - like fall or summer?

You are really on a roll with your walks! So lovely. Blackberry season here has been over for a month. I didn't get a single one picked! Fall is showing signs of arriving early here also.
Swans scare me. Beautiful, yes, but I've never met one that wasn't at least mildly aggressive. They just make me think of pretty geese.
Cows are a dime a dozen here, but I love their meandering ways and soft eyes.
Thanks for sharing your photos! Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed your walk.

Awesome pictures and love the tour as you walked....I'm a creature of habit, once I set a path, I can't change doesn't feel right to go any other directions....when my hubby and I walked we changed my walking path and actually walked less than when I'm by myself on the original path...not sure why by any ways....hope you have a great weekend!

Blackberries remind me of Seattle. Visiting my uncle and my mom got her new white Keds stained with blackberries and the stain never came out! Sorry the cow turned down your conversation advances. They can be so standoffish! Once again, you have made us feel like we were there with you!
