There is a Well By Choice 10 week challenge beginning next week at work. $10 to buy in and if you gain weight you get fined a $1 per week, no fine if you stay the same or lose ...at the end of 10 weeks the most % weight loss wins the pot. This is a new type of challenge for me and maybe I need to step out of my comfort zone (it certainly hasn't brought me blazing glory of success by sticking to my current plan).
I was looking through pictures last night working on a calendar of local scenery to auction off for the Lion's Club Hoe Down next month...I must have looked through every picture we have taken over the past few years...something I noticed...I was the main photographer so there aren't lots of pictures of me...maybe only one that I actually liked and the rest I shudder at. I really started taking pictures when I got a smart phone about 10 months ago..accountablity pictures at the gym...so now I can see that I really haven't gotten anywhere in a LONG time.
I really have to make a decision...I am busy and either be more accepting of that fact and be content that I am not moving in the wrong direction and there is some success in staying the same for 2 years after losing about 10 pounds. Or use the pictures to support a daily mantra of " I want to look better than this!" How? Join the challenge.
- get out of my comfort zone for the next 10 weeks by getting up an hour earlier and trying to exercise before work, continue to push myself with distance and speed during my runs, just say "no" to opportunities for dessert, or other temptations that bring seconds of joy and hours of regret.
In 10 weeks I could be:
10 pounds lighter, down a pant size, running 5 miles, bounding out of bed at 5am to do an Insanity workout...why not find out ?
