The last time I worked out, I had gone to the gym for 5 days in a row. Now, I have NOT gone to the gym for five days in a row because of my time of the month.
Honestly I think my body is just absolutely loving the break. However, it's also CRAVING exercise like walking on the treadmill and doing some weight training. I know better than to overexercise a hormonal body right now. Haha!
I can say that although I've been overeating during these five days which is normal, I've been doing my best to sneak in my healthy lifestyle change habits from time to time.
I cooked a big pot of black beans with spices and have been eating that for lunch, dinner, brunch for a few days along with some cold cuts like ham, salami, and cheese.
I have this burrito style meal with raw spinach on Mayan flour burrito (medium size).
I've stopped eating yogurt this week since I'm not up for it. However, I've still been eating fruit like microwaved plantains and cantaloupe.
In previous years, my eating habits were very poor. This time around, I'm doing drastically better even during my 'time of the month.' I used to inhale cookies, chips, cake, ice cream every day during my time of the month, but not this time around.
I'm so grateful to God that I am doing so much better. I know I have Accountability Partners who pray for me and I really feel their prayers! Plus the support from this sparkcommunity (those who visit me) is just awesome!
I am doing much better! Thanks for the encouragement! :)
Okay, maybe tomorrow it'll be officially over and I can perhaps get to the gym by Sunday.
Tomorrow, I'm supposed to have a playdate with a neighbor and her 3 year old son at the park.
So, we'll see if it will be too humid to go out tomorrow.
We might step out for pizza, maybe, maybe not.
I'm going to include how I microwave my plantains on this blog.
Take a ripe plantain.
Cut off the tails on both ends.
Slice the skin 5 times from tail to tail to create openings in the skin. (You slice the skin all around so they are evenly spaced.)
Wrap the plantain in paper towel.
Turn on the tap water in the sink and drench the paper-towel wrapped plantain under running water.
Squeeze the excess water out so that both plantain and paper towel are 'wet.'
Place plantain (wrapped in paper towel) in microwave and microwave for about 5 minutes.
Take off paper towel and skin and throw away.
I chopped mine up in slices, added honey, and ground cinnamon, which I've never done before. I wanted to try something different this time since I was craving something extra sweet earlier this week.
I also had this plantain with coffee and creamer.
