I've been trying very hard to count my carbs and keep them within the guidelines that my doctor has recommended for my height on a prediabetic diet. It isn't always easy to stay within my carb limits, not snack between meals or while preparing meals, and only eat at regularly scheduled times. I have found that carbs are everywhere and all my favorite foods have tons of carbs!!! So I have to really watch portion sizes and select those foods that give me the most bang per carb!! (fruits, veggies & whole grains) But I have found that even though I have to stay away from all my carb-filled cravings, I can reward myself at the end of the day by indulging in 2 cups of popcorn and 3 Dark Chocolate Hershey KISSES!!!!!! I eat them one at a time and let them slowly melt in my mouth while I read a good book or watch my favorite TV show!!! And I can sit back and smile while I enjoy them because I know that I DESERVE EACH DELICIOUS KISS!!!!!!
