Bucket lists

Thursday, September 05, 2013

2 years ago when my Ex SIL turned 60, she drew up a bucket list of things she wanted to do. Then she immediately started doing them. She went zip lining, rode in a helicopter, rode the new fairus wheel they just built in Myrtle Beach ( one of the tallest around) and went to New Orleans for Marti Gras. She ran in a color run and drove a motorcycle for bike week. Now that she can't do anything any more at least she has great memories.

I too had written a bucket list but I put mine on hold till I lost some weight. I wanted it as a reward too for accomplishing my goal. Now I think how foolish I was to do this. My goal is further away and life is passing me by. Life is all about making memories and I'm missing out on this.

How many of you are waiting to do something till you lose some weight? Is it that important to wait? Now I'm making 2 bucket lists. One of the things I can physically do right now and a second one for the day I finally lose some weight. Don't spend your life waiting, the clock is ticking!

I never wrote out an actual bucket list, I had a list of things to see before I couldnt see anymore. And that list has been ongoing for for some 30 years.

I have accomplished most of those things I wanted to see, that didnt cost a lot to achieve. Some things always were out of my reach...as they needed someone to travel with me or the money to go. C'est le vive! That doesn't bother me. It is life!

Put things off because of my size? No, I don't recall ever doing that. Putting it off cause I couldnt see well enough to go alone yes I have done that. Out of safety for my physical being.

Will I write a bucket list now? I really doubt it. It doesnt seem like an important thing to do to me. emoticon good luck with yours though!

For me it hasn't been waiting to lose weight, but rather waiting to pay off bills, till we have some money, till there's more time. You are so right that time is ticking by and we should do things that we want to now. Thanks for reminding me. emoticon

    Hi DSBride:
I've never thought of emoticon making a bucket list. I always have different goals that I want to achieve, but you are right there are definitely some experiences I would love to have in this lifetime that I could list and check off. I guess I just never considered the concept. Thanks for the inspiration!
