A letter to myself

Thursday, September 05, 2013

Dear Self,

What are you doing to yourself? You have let yourself go. You are 243 pounds. You need to change something. Fast. You have 3 beautiful little boys who want to grow up with their mommy.
Your body deserves better. I know this journey is long and hard, but the end result will be so worth it. All the tears, all the struggles... you will only come to love them when you reach your goal.
You are tired. Your joints ache. You are grouchy all the time. You barely take your kids to the park anymore because you feel lazy. All of this can be changed. You just have to take it one day at a time. Try not to focus on food 24/7. Slowly get into the habit of switching an unhealthy snack with a healthy one. Drink more water, and A LOT less pepsi. In fact, carry a water bottle around with you. Never let it leave your side!
You can do this. 1 year from now, you will read this and know that it was the start of something amazing. Do this for your kids, your family... but most of all, do it for yourself.

Love,
Me

That you were able to do this says a lot -- you are able to recognize, admit and confront your weaknesses head on. And THAT is the most important step of all. You will succeed! emoticon

It's tough to lose and oh so easy to put on, it won't be easy but you have 3 beautiful reasons to lose the weight and love yourself and put yourself first.
These boys want to dance with mommy at their weddings, play with her at the park now. They grow up so fast it seems the other day my son was 3 yrs old in his one piece pj's and now he's going to be 17 yrs old. god how the time flies!!!!!!!
You can do this, baby steps add up .... bad habits become healthy habits like taking the water bottle instead of having a Pepsi, or parking further so you can walk more and then before you know it your just automatically doing this stuff without thinking.
Tracking is the most important thing because then once you get it down in your head you know how much calories are for a apple or that occassional chocolate chip cookie and then you'll wonder god are those calories really worth having the cookie ?
It's not easy if it were there wouldn't be a sparkpeople website, but we're all here to support you!
Good Luck on your Journey! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
