Did anyone else watch The Doctors today? They did a segment on a woman traveling in Tanzania who contracted malaria. She was lucky she was able to afford the $7 it cost to treat her, but learned many die because they can't afford a sum that we would consider minuscule. Many of the victims are young children. She started Malaika For Life to help people who can't afford the malaria medicine. They are selling bracelets made by Tanzanian women so not only are the malaria victims helped, but these women are also able to help support their families as well.     It's shocking. There are people in our country in the same position who die prematurely for lack of health insurance and health care. I witnessed it often as a nurse. Everyone in the world should at least have access to health care regardless of their economic status.
