Fit Bit AND Body Media? And the Grocery Victory!

Thursday, September 05, 2013

Well, I may be in overkill. I started out with the Body Media armband to keep track of my activity easier. Problem with that is that every time I was out in public people stared or straight out asked what the armband was. I was always under the impression that perhaps they thought I was under house arrest. emoticon my Fit Bit arrived. I have decided that on the days that I am running around shopping, visiting or going to church that I can wear the Fit Bit. When I am home is when I will wear the armband. I hope this is going to work well. emoticon Would love to hear from others if they have dealt with this.

I was very proud of myself today at the grocery store. Needed to pick up some groceries. Problem. I didn't have a grocery list. That can be a kiss of death for me. But...I went there and bought healthier choices even though the center aisle had a huge sale on Oreo's. Second kiss of death. AND there is pumpkin spice flavored everything right now. It wasn't until I was in the car on my way home that I let out a sigh of relief and a shout of "I DID IT! I RESISTED THE TEMPTATION!" That victory tasted sweeter than any cookie. emoticon emoticon

I love my fit bit arm band! I wear it all the time (unless its charging)! It holds you accountable for all (or no) steps each day! I too have a desk job and didnt realize how out of shape I was! I dont track my sleeping but I heard that it tells a lot too.

I have a FitBit and love it. And like USMAWife indicates, I wear it to sleep as I was trying to see if I could notice trends in sleep patterns. It's pretty motivating to try and get the # of steps you want each day.

I haven't tried BodyMedia. I liked that FitBit wasn't intrusive. I just clip it to my bra and go - no one notices.

I use a FitBit. I like it for the motivation. It really does get me to move more. Hard to sit down if I've only walked 3,000 steps in a day - I have a desk job, so that could really happen. I have really wanted a Body Media, but was not sure about wearing it on my arm all the time - but mostly the monthly fee was a deal breaker.

You should really wear your fitbit all the time especially if you are syncing it over between SP and the FB site. Also wear it for sleeping since depending on which model you got it monitors sleep habits/ patterns as well as your calories burned during sleep

I actually gave away my body fit as to me it was not as accurate as the FB and the idea of paying for the montioring was not a turn on

I don't have the trackers you do but I just wear my pedometer (Walmart cheapy) on the waist band on my pants, usually my shirt covers it up so no one really sees it....people usually wonder about things they don't understand....don't let it discourage you from using your arm band in public...just go with which ever benefits your needs best.
