Trying Thursday

Thursday, September 05, 2013

Buddy and I got out today again, in between the rain. will it ever stop? I couldn't really get in the mood for walking, did get 3 laps I think, but it took me one and a half hours, so maybe I got 4. We met 8 other dogs today and all but one of them were not very nice. Usually if one is close ahead or behind us, I will go the opposite way so we only pass once, so today I had to turn around 3 times..... threw me off my pattern...

Had my vanilla Avon bubble bath (Patty - what did you choose?) and cooked up the chow... my neighbor came and we bottled it and they all sealed, I gave her another bottle +2 yesterday, and she was very thankful for me teaching her how to do it. Her ex=MIL is happy she learned so now she can be the teacher for her.... guess this must be getting to be a lost art.

Tried to get my meds renewed but there were no renewals, so called several pharmacies and then the walk-in clinic. Sad the medical care we have in this town & city. I will have to go to the walk-in clinic tomorrow and get a real prescription and check it this time that they don't make any more mistakes, and also that I get a requisition for my blood work as my diabetic clinic is not allowed to order the blood work, but can give me the results.... what a pain!!!

So, needless to say, not a good planned supper, used up that leftover spaghetti and for protein I had a can of sardines, and then a chocolate pudding and an applesauce.... tried to stay with food groups but wish I had a big dish of ice cream..frustrations!!!!! Emotional eating will take over if I don't find something else to do right now.....

It was an apple bubble bath. I, too, ran around to different drug stores trying to get a prescription filled. I had called in one at my usual pharmacy, but they didn't have the Adderall XR for my ADD. The girl was nice enough to call two other stores in the chain but they didn't have it either. So, I was off on a hunt. Good thing I took my daughter's suggestion and started getting audio books to listen to while I am in the car running around.

There's a lot of thing that are becoming a lost art - canning, quilting, gardening, cook and bake from scratch, knitting and crocheting. I am wanting to do more of these things.

Maybe ice cream can be a treat this weekend! Wish we were closer, I would take you so we could both indulge! emoticon

When the kids were small I used to make chow just for the smell in the house! Awesome, smells like autumn. Only trouble is my dh doesn't like it so I would have to give it away or eat it all myself. ....
Will trade you cool weather for some rain - we desperately need it here in southern Ontario. - just for a day though :)) - that's my double chin emoticon
You sound like my dh and his diabetic meds - last week they ran out of insulin!???? Luckily he doesn't leave himself short. The doctors and pharmacies really have a racket going!
Have a good day tomorrow.
cheers
Janet

My mother cans too and we really enjoy it.
I plant the garden and she bottles, so I think it's kind of fair!? emoticon

Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon

sorry you are having such a tough time of it right now.

Canning IS the lost art! Some people know a few people that still can their own stuff but most dont know anyone that does it, at least among the people I know. I have had several ask me to teach them but when it comes time to do it, they claim they have no time for this. Busy summers or what ever.

Well, I will only teach in the time that the stuff comes ready! I refuse to buy out of season just to teach someone how to do canning, though I would if THEY want to buy the stiuff out of season lol

So really nice that you have had an avid pupil! And gives you a bit of one on one friendship building a s well.

Hoping for better mood, weather and choices for you tomorrow
