Doughnuts, Doughnuts, Doughnuts

In my office, my department is infamous for being the 'snack' department. On any given week we have doughnuts, bagels, pizza, etc... It's easy to stay on board on the few days that these little goodies aren't around, but on days like today, it's hard. So far I've had 2 doughnuts that I absolutely didn't need. I have a soft spot for desserts (candy not so much).

I need to focus on breaking old habits like this. Normally I'd get upset that I 'fell off the wagon' but I think it's better just to write it out, keep going, and get back on track tomorrow. I'm not going to get so calorie or weight obssessed that I let little things get me down. So long as I'm heading in the right direction over the long run, I feel good.

Of course, I'll probably spend an extra 30 mins on the treadmill tonight!

    Blogging about it IS a great way to begin to get a handle on this temptation, but even more important is the fact that you aren't beating yourself up for the slip. Great job.

    My office is full of food all the time - there are more than 200 of us and someone is always bringing something "delicious." I've learned over time to do two things. First, I think about the dirtiest kitchen in the world and imagine that the food was prepared there. Second, if it's something store-bought, I focus on what I know about how that particular food was made. Donuts, for example, fried in old grease. Yuck. And after a bit of practice, the yuck-factor will work for you!

You're spot-on - writing about what you're doing will help you make the choices you want to make!

    oh snap, another 30 minutes on the treadmill???? Don't let that get you down either. I don't think one or two donuts is the end, but there was a time when I would not have stopped at two. I have to say, the picture you have of donuts looks very good, especially that purple one that looks like a flower.
