Stress Echocardiogram Today

Thursday, September 05, 2013

I was fine with this until I googled it and did some research last night. Then I didn't sleep a wink!

I totally fit the profile for heart disease -- I have beautifully low blood pressure and resting heart rate, until I exercise vigorously -- then the numbers go berserk!

So I stayed up all night, tossing and turning -- what if I have heart disease? What if we have to cancel our Inca Hiking trip which leaves in less than two weeks? Judging from how hard the 3 miles up Pikes Peak was last month -- this trip is going to be AS hard if not harder. The hiking part is 25 miles spread over 4 days, all at elevations from 9,000-14,000 feet. Here's what we'll be hiking:

The second day is that BIIIIGGGGGG incline up to the highest point on the trail, 14,000 feet. I'm kind of in Panic Mode right now!

I'll find out generally if I'm healthy or not during/after the test, although the official report won't be available for a few days.

Wish me luck!!!!

May you find the peace and serenity within you to get through all of this.
Worrying about it will not help even one tiny bit.
You've done a lot of hiking without any problem, right?
Maybe it's something simple like an electrolyte imbalance or something.
    Keep us posted.

I do wish you good luck! Always a little scary to be going through something like that but better for you to know than not. By the time you this you'll know but I'm betting you're going to be okay but at least you'll know and won't be stressing over the unknown.

Your granddaughter is absolutely the cutest! Glad you posted that picture. Too soon to start worrying about her and she will be fine.

You take care and let us know how it goes. You have lots of people cheering for you!

I liked that ear of corn video as well but as one of the other commenters said - we soak our corn for a few hours and then BBQ it (with husk on). Give it a try sometime - of course you still have to deal with the silk using the BBQ method.

I'm sure it will go well. You'll get information to clarify things for you. I have them regularly since my heart attacks several decades ago. I always am glad to see how the old ticker is doing. It reassures my hubby too.
Let us know how it goes.
Your Inca Trail hike sounds amazing!
