As I entered the "huddle room," She said, "My, you look worried." I never know what these meetings are about until I get there so I imagined all sorts of unpleasant scenarios and even had a stomachache when it was over. It turned out that I have been late about once a week for the last 6 months (mostly due to traffic) and she wondered if I would like to start later. I think most of my problems have been due to traffic jams and so I requested starting earlier before the "rush hour," and she agreed to let me try starting with a new schedule starting on Sept 9th of 6:30 to 3:00 which I am sure will be much better. I also will miss the "rush hour" traffic on the way home. I had worked 6:00 to 2:30 for most of my 23 years with the company and did not seem to have a problem with getting to work on time with those hours. I think 6:30 to 3:00 will be perfect.
So, of course, while waiting for this meeting (she scheduled this last week on Thursday) I had a lot of time to think of all sorts of things I may have done wrong and I got myself tied up in knots with imaginary remorse and felt ready to cry when I walked into the meeting, so I was greatly relieved that it was a change in work schedule that was going to be discussed.
It would be nice if the supervisor could at least hint at the reason for the scheduled meeting cause I found it agonizing to wait and see.
