Embracing The Possibilities! (pics)

Since I came back to Spark in May of 2012, I have had one phrase at the top of my Spark Page. I have had one phrase that I was going to define this journey and I was going to follow for the rest of my life : Embracing The Possibilities.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "embracing" as to take up especially readily or gladly. To avail oneself of : to welcome.

I am determined to embrace this journey! I am determined that this time would be different than all the other times before. I made a promise to myself that I will fully embrace the fact that I had the determination within me to change! I made a promise to myself that I would fully embrace the lifestyle and actively live my change! I made a promise to embrace the mentality that I AM WORTH IT!

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "possibilities" as the condition or fact of being possible. One's utmost power, capacity, or ability : something that is possible.

We have possibilities in our lives. We have many roads, avenues, and paths that we can go down. We can do anything that we set our minds to. We can be that person that we always dreamed of being. We can become what we dream of. We have endless possibilities!

Your journey was and is not easy. My journey was and is not easy. Our results are not made overnight! Our results are made on the back of a dream that we have to better ourselves! Our results are made on the back of blood, sweat, and tears! Our results are made because we will NOT give up no matter the obstacle that is put in our way!

Yes, I did weigh 509lbs. on May 31, 2009. Yes, I did lose 121lbs. in just under a year. Yes, I did gain 78lbs. of that back before I found my way back to Spark. Yes, I have now lost 215lbs.! I have been where you are now! I have had success and I have had failures! I know the difficulties! I have picked myself up off the ground when I didn't think it was possible because I knew that nobody else could do it for me! I had the possibilities within me, I just had to embrace them!

Now that I made my original weight goal, I have new possibilities to embrace! I have started running. The first time I ran 3 miles just over three weeks ago, it took me over 38 minutes. Now, just the other day, I ran that same 3 miles in 31:14! I cut off over 7 minutes of time in less than a month! Now my goal is to do the 3 miles in under 30 minutes!

I have the Rugged Maniac 5k Obstacle Course Race coming up on September 14th. It is my goal to finish that and to do the best I can.

I have a goal to be at 279lbs. (15lbs. away and 230lbs. total loss) by my birthday on October 17th.

I have a goal to be at 269lbs. (25lbs. away and 240lbs. total loss) by the Spark Indianapolis rally in January.

These are my goals that keep my going. They keep me pushing to be better every day!

You can see the physical change in my pictures that I posted in this blog. I hope they help you realize that it is possible to reach your goal! It is possible to reach your dream! No matter what stage of your journey that you are on, IT IS POSSIBLE! I hope you are embracing the possibilities!

Embrace YOUR Possibilities

Good Day Sparkville

Just frickin' amazing. This journey is one of self-discovery as much as anything else, and your determination to embrace possibilities is inspiring others to embrace their possibilities every day. So amazing to see the stories of our lives overlapping each other here in this community. Holding each other up, encouraging each other. One simply cannot cross your path here and not leave changed, inspired. Such a legacy, dude.

What a great blog and reminder that we need to embrace life continually. We tend to want to live "after I lose xx pounds", "starting the first of the month", "after the holidays". Life is always going to happen and there will always be tomorrow but we for sure miss out on today always waiting.

You are such an inspiration and great success!! I know that you'll meet your goals with such a wonderful outlook and approach. And by chance you don't, you'll have lived each day to the best and will have zero to be disappointed about.

YAY YOU!!!
