Celestial Fireworks

Wednesday, September 04, 2013

We've got lightning tonight, and I love to watch's always been a treat for me, the wilder the lightning, the better I enjoy the show.

Astraphobia, sometimes called astrapophobia, is the fear of thunder and lightning, and I don't have it.

If I hadn't grown up in a secure environment I might feel differently.

A friend of mine's grandmother was killed by lightning INSIDE her house, while working in her farm kitchen (back in the old days). The family was leery of thunderstorms ever after.

Still, I like to watch it as it happens, preferably, of course, from indoors, regardless.

I love to watch it as well. I have a friend that was out hunting with 3 other guys several yrs. ago. As they we walking back to the truck, a bolt hit them all. The 1st one didn't make it. My friend was 2nd in the line and he had burns. They feel the guys were walking too close and the guns were the items that connected all four!! I still love it but respect it!!

Mother Nature put on a terrific show here last week she caught us off guard with a horrific downpour lots of thunder and over one thousand lightening strikes it was
awesome but I am happy I was inside.. That happened in the space of twenty minutes.

Oh, wow! Yeah, I guess that would change your perspective.

I like lightning, too!
