Made It through My Workout

I made it through my workout today even though I stayed up too late last night and didn't get the amount of sleep I typically need.

There are just some non-negotiables for me:

1. Sleep (8-9 hours each night)
2. Healthy food and therefore--meal planning
3. Exercise (I suffer from depression and exercise makes me feel worlds better)
4. Spiritual practices
5. Social support

If I neglect any one of these, I get wacked out from being out of balance.

Today since I was tired, I started to think, "Do I really care about this weight loss and working out stuff? Maybe I'm just being obsessive and vain." That was my TIREDNESS. Yes, I care about this weight loss stuff. I am sharper mentally, more confident, more healthy, more energetic, and better looking at only 1/4 of the way to goal.

Lesson learned--gotta get to bed on time.

    Excellent list of priorities. You might want to experiment with getting something in the range of 7-8 hours sleep rather than 8-9, though. I'd have to dig around to find the research, but sleeping much past 8 hours is usually a sign of diminished health.

Though, come to think of it, that might be a bit chicken-and-egg... in that it may be the extra weight is disrupting your internal cycle enough that you need extra sleep and you'll drift back to a slightly reduced schedule once some more comes off. I have something to watch now, so hurrah inspiration.

Either way, keep up the good work and great attitude to have about that nagging little voice of laziness we all have!
