Today I did some more cogitating on the question of which elliptical to buy--read more reviews, considered my options. I could have bought a highly rated one for about $1,150 including delivery & assembly, & paid for it in 6 months with no interest. But I decided to check craigslist just in case, & found a very similar one, used just once (& of course already assembled), for $200! I read reviews of that model, & they were very positive; it has the longer adjustable stride that I need. And when I called the seller, I found him to be very nice, & he speaks Spanish, which is always a plus in my book.
A male friend from church is available to help me transport it tomorrow evening. (I'll feel much more comfortable going to a stranger's home with him along.) I have booked a U-Haul online; the place I'll pick it up is very close by. I'll stroll to the ATM this evening to pick up the $200 in cash. My friend will help me bring it into my new exercise/art/guest room, then we'll return the truck, then we'll come home & I'll thank him with a yummy meal--leftovers of a fabulous curry I fixed last weekend!
And I just ordered a pad to put underneath the elliptical, to muffle the noise. That will arrive Friday.
I'm so happy! Having this cardio option right in my home is going to allow my exercise to be much more regular & productive. I'm very grateful to the person here on SP who reminded me to check craigslist for deals. This feels like a gift from God.
Also, as of this a.m. my weight is showing response to my new two-square-meals-a-day rhythm--down nearly 3 pounds!
