I've been really busy the past couple of days. . . . . and today was the day for a break, and a treat. My favorite treat.
I love chocolate. I know that some people don't like chocolate. . . but I cannot begin to relate to that. To deny it would be a great disservice to myself. I would be setting myself up for failure if I planned a future in which I could not eat chocolate.
So, I budget my chocolate addiction into my daily caloric allowance.
Each morning I budget one scoop of instant chocolate (90 calories) in my cup of coffee. Yum.
But this afternoon was my planned chocolate treat. . . . one serving of chocolate chips (30 chips = 70 calories) melted in the microwave for 45 seconds. Remove and stir until it's smooth and ooooey goooooey. (You can add flax seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, almonds, peanut butter, or whatever you like . . . . but I prefer it plain, just as it is.)
Savored just a little bit at a time, while still warm and creamy, it lasts a long time and has never failed to absolutely satisfy my chocolate craving.
And it's only 70 calories. For me, it's pure indulgence.
