First Bike Ride Home

Wednesday, September 04, 2013

Today was the first day I rode my bike home from school. 8-1/2 miles. And I did it in 1 hour and 2 minutes. Only walked twice because those long inclines were kicking my butt and I didn't want to fall over. There was one point where there was almost a mile of flat road with no trees. I noticed some turkey buzzards circling around and was thinking perhaps they were waiting for me.
There were allot of hills to ride up too. Allot! More than I realized. But there were also many, many hills for me to coast down which made it all worthwhile. And while FitBit doesn't recognize much of the peddling it did log some of it. I will still have to take a walk later to get my 10,000 steps in but I feel really, really good about accomplishing this ride. And dare I say it - I'm actually looking forward to doing it again and getting a better time. OMG - I actually like to exercise.

Oh yeah - and to make it even better - I finally dropped that half pound (and an extra one too). So I'm down 21 pounds! Great day. Just a great day.
