Did finish my C25K training. Was (still am!!) beyond psyched about it...I would never have thought I'd be able to do that, and overcoming the obstacles in my own brain is the toughest battle!
I continued strong through the month, until I went in to have a cavity filled (routine, and actually got some enlightenment as far as why I'm so prone to them), and my dentist found that the one molar needed a root canal. I was lucky enough to get in for the surgery the next day (srsly lucky--and it all somehow worked out that I only lost 15 minutes of work on the schedule that week...I'm thanking my lucky stars!!), but I was pretty much down for the count for a week, between numbness and swelling and pain and meds and antibiotics making me feel woozy...
I took advantage of a Groupon deal awhile back, where you get 30 fitness classes for $20. Yeah. F'real. Jumped on THAT!! So far I've only had time (stupid root canal) to try Jazzercise, but I LOVE it...so, yesterday was my first day back to it with them (second day in class), and Thursday I'm trying hot yoga. SO excited!! I'm trying to find some fun ways to incorporate toning and weight training into the cardio routine, because lifting weights at home just isn't thrilling me to pieces. Jazzercise at least has the strength training (esp in the legs--woah, MAMA!!! My hips got a serious workout yesterday!!), and yoga will be good for that and some much-needed stretching/flexibility training.
I've been so depressed, the past couple of weeks...not really able to eat much (soft foods only...and my jaw has been so tight, it hurts to try and wrap my mouth around a bite of crunchy salad, y'know?), not able to work out, just...BLAH. And I found myself wondering:
HOW THE HELL DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF LONG ENOUGH TO PUT MY BODY IN THE SHAPE IT'S IN NOW??
...which I guess is just one hell of a good sign!
