So far so good. Thank you to everyone who has sent kind words, thoughts, and prayers for my beau and his family.
It has been a long day so far. My beau is handling things ok so far...but he didn't sleep last night at all and is reading and dozing off next to me.

I am always freaking out about being late for things and things going wrong...and we get lost a lot, so we left very early this morning for the train station.
It is only the third time I have taken the train to downtown Chicago and the first time without my sister. We made it to union station alright, got something to eat and since we were only a couple blocks from the greyhound bus station I took my beau over to the old union station to see the beautiful architecture. I can't post pics from my phone but will post them when I get on my computer.

We left there on the other side of the block and of course the GPS wasn't cooperating so I wasn't sure which way we needed to walk to get to the bus depot. A nice man stopped and asked us if we needed help because we both were fussing with our phones haha. He got us pointed in the right direction and we made it to the depot without incident. After figuring out the kiosk thingy to get the tickets printed, I decided to check two of our bags.
Checking luggage is not something I usually do because I get worked up thinking my stuff will end up in BFE but 4 bags plus two pillows is too much to cram in the overhead.

We are about 4.5 hours into our trip and I have taken 2 pain pills, feel a bit nauseous, and sit here wondering if my jiggling across the country is burning calories!

P.s. sorry for any typos but I am typing from my phone...while jiggling.

The only time I rode a greyhound bus was going back to Chicago for my Father's funeral. There were some interesting travelers on the bus. Glad you both found your way there okay. Let him sleep as much as he can, he will need it.

Getting around Chicago can be a GREAT adventure. Enjoy the bus ride, haven't been on one since the 70's, met some neat people. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
