I've decided to try 30 days of good stuff by Katie Lowe a.k.a. Fat Girl, PHD (www.fatgirlphd.com). She's awesome by the way and really strives to show that it's a mind and body process. I've spent the past 30 days staring at the daily emails being afraid of something. But what? Change? Success? Belief that I can be/do something different? I've spent so many years being afraid of some unknown imagined monster that I've been stuck. I have a gazillion excuses about why I can't today or tomorrow. I've decided to just close one eye, take a deep breath, and commit to 30 days of good stuff.
Day 1: Attitude is Everyting
Today is about thinking positive and amazingly. It's about realizing that change is hard especially early on and it's all about mind over matter. Focusing on making tiny decisions that help me create a healthier me in so many ways. She says that it's not about depriving me, but taking back control and making life "awesome".
Today I am working on flipping my thoughts around. Instead of defeating myself I am working on lifting myself up. She suggests taking note of when you swap a negative for a positive and I am going to start this today. I am a visual person and like to see progress.
So far today I have focused on the positive thoughts, tracked my food and stayed within my goals, went swimming, and have practiced small bouts of breathing/meditation. I call this a success.
