I look like I lost 5 pounds....

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

ok - so I have had a head cold for a few days....I come into the office and someone I work with says wow - you are still sick - you've lost a ton of weight...

me - laughing and smirking on the inside....this particular coworker says odd things from time to time - I told her thank s- but I know I didn't lose - in fact I gained a few since I changed my eating habits due to being sick.... the scale shows it - I went up a few...

She argued with me and swears I lost like 6 pounds and the blouse I am wearing today shows it...

At this point - I made a joke - I guess I should either get sick more often or this blouse is a keeper...then walked away.

It's comments from this person - in this way - that I am not sure what to say - it becomes pretty obvious that coming from her - generally there are no compliments - so this was some attempt at an insult - I guess...except I know a few days of a head cold aren't making me look sickly ill enough to warrant that comment and frankly I could care less for her thoughts on my appearance...

Either way - it was interesting today - none the less.

I think you handled it well though! Haha, I have a similar co-worker so I know the feeling!

Smile and say "Thank you for you wonderful encouragement, it means a lot to me!"

Then walk away and she will be flummoxed.... emoticon
