Time to Get Working(Out)

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

Today, I had to park a bit of a distance from the doors of the clinic. Part of the reason was because of people taking more than one space. The other part is because my mother's car is bigger than I like and I need enough room to keep my door open so I can get in and out with my crutches. I went inside and complained a bit, but while I was inside doing my exercises, I realized that I need to start doing some walking anyways.

On my way home, I stopped at Aldi's and for the first time in 6 weeks, I did some grocery shopping. I got some cereal, whole wheat pasta, salad, grilled chicken, bell peppers and a box of couscous. I go to the registers and at that moment, they had one open. I was looking for the end of the line when a customer told me to get ahead of her. That's when a young man grabbed and elderly customer and led her to another register that he was opening up. I then went to that lane.

My visit was good and I am feeling pretty tired. It's a good tired and I've made up my mind that at the very least, I will walk to the curb and back a few times every day. I really need to quit treating myself as if I'm crippled. There are still things that I can't do, like carry a gallon of milk, but I need to start doing more for myself.

yes doing for you is important but doing for others is in your nature - dont change that as it usually is the generous personality God gave you and that's what the world needs :)
