Active Tuesday!

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

Today has been a very active day and it is still early in the afternoon! I'm nearly at 7500 steps already!

This morning went fairly well with it being the kids' first day back to school! I was a bit thrown off because I had not gotten back into any kind of routine, but it all went down rather well!

Didn't sleep well so I slept through the alarm. By the time I was ready to get up, it was 7, that meant, no stretching, coffee, and kid free time as originally planned to get me in the groove. My fault.

Got all the kids up, and they dressed with what they chose the evening before. Bean started the bagels and I got coffee going. Once everyone was down, breakfast was going and I did boy hair while the bagels toasted. After breakfast, it was make beds, tidy rooms and brush teeth, then I did the girls' hair while boys brushed. They look super adorable and they are all excited to be in school today!

Everyone was rearing to go by 8am and so off we went to the open house! Met the teachers who mostly seem like a good fit with our kids. I have to wait and see how things go with the one I'm not so sure about.

After school runs, my husband, Ace and I went to get some groceries and wandered WalMart before heading home. I decided that I wanted a cheat meal (Tim Horton's) today for lunch and I went with the ham and swiss which I split my half with Ace. He got the donut. emoticon

While we were there, the high schoolers came down for lunch and there was a pretty red head who noticed Ace and mentioned to her friend that she thought he was cute. Ace heard and told me and then said he wanted to tell her she was pretty. We gave him the ok, thinking he wasn't going to do it, but HE DID! She was so embarrassed but loved it! I've never seen Ace so red, but it was so adorable. Just picture a blue eyed, strawberry blond 5 year old saying you are pretty. Just melts your heart! emoticon

After lunch, we grabbed new dog food since we need to start changing him from puppy food. In less than 3 weeks, our Bongo Boi will be 1 year old! Crazy how fast time flies. Tomorrow we will be taking him to the vet since he's been showing signs of skin irritations that really need to be checked out. New scabbing has formed on his inner leg...Hopefully, it won't be a big deal.

Then home. Brought in the groceries, turned on the sprinkler and in an hour, my other 3 kids will be off from school! Whoa! Where did the day go?! Today is taco Tuesday and my hubby chose nachos, I'm adding a couple things to my portion like olives. After dinner, it will be time for our 2mi family walk.

Looking forward to the evening and the wonder of the kids' first day of school!

Have a gooder all!

I can't wait to have a house full of pitter patters (besides the dog, of course). Although, as a childless adult, I sometimes wonder how I will manage not only MY schedule, but the schedules of children as well! Parents amaze me!
