See my previous blog for the whole recipe. A week ago or more.
oh my! I had to shop 3 times before I had all the ingredients at the same time. i bought some of the veggies before but used them up!
Today I bought new spices because some of my dates on my old spices were in the 1900's. And some in the 1980's or older!
A friend is here helping me. Actually she is a health aide I pay but she has become a wonderful friend.
This is quite a process. I toasted the barley. It said unhulled. Well I looked on the internet and unhulled are seeds for planting! There are barley hulled as opposed to pearl barley. I got the barley hulled. I still don't know if I should actually look for unhulled barley!
The white beans have soaked, drained, cooked. The spices are all measured into a bowl. The onions are sauteing in wine-sorry no red wine. But I have white cooking wine.
The mushrooms are sliced. the cabbage is soon to be sliced--not in the fancy way the recipe says--but I will do my best.
The house smells awesome!
