No More Panera Bread

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

I love all of the positivity on this site. So much better than others I've been on emoticon

Yesterday I had to work first shift for the first time in a long, long time. It made me realize that I don't do well with change. Like at all. I didn't wake up in time to pack a lunch, so I winged it at Panera Bread. Never again emoticon Their tomato and mozzarella panini, my favorite since I don't eat a lot of meat, had a staggering 31 grams of fat. Of course they said, 'Would you like to add a bakery item for only .99?' I contemplated for a moment, and after realizing I hadn't eaten yet said 'yes.'

Bad choice.

One sugar cookie there has 21 grams of fat emoticon

All is well, though. I still tracked everything I ate and logged in my activity for the day. Luckily I'm back to second shift today, so I have plenty of time to pack a healthy lunch that even includes vegetables emoticon

May everyone who reads this have a fantastic, healthy day emoticon

Their black bean soup is a healthier option. Same with the greek salad and the Mediterranean sandwich. You can eat out, you just need to take a look at the nutritional information before hand.

There are some healthier options at Panera and their website has a great nutrition calculator! Just definitely one of those places where you're better off pre-tracking and obviously usually better for a lot of reasons to bring your own. But at least you learned a good lesson and know for next time. You've got this!
