Starting the Shred Diet

I caught Dr. Ian K. Smith on TV last week and he caught my attention (gut instinct attention). I don't think he said anything new or different that I haven't heard in some way or another before but something spoke to me. Anyway I ordered 2 copies of his book. 1 for me and 1 for my best friend. She might not be in the right space and time to do it but in the future perhaps.

So today is day 3 as I prepped last week and started on Sunday Sept 1. The calendar was perfectly aligned this month for OCD folks! Its fun to be a little obsessive about it. Lots of prep and work has to go into meal planning (especially with my limitations at work). So far it seems like I'm eating all the time but very low cal and small portions of food. I'm not hungry. (When I binge on cake or ice cream I'm not hungry either, I'm assuming that I'm numbing emotions--will this plan be enough to distract me or create enough positive thoughts to combat the sugar highs?) My calories have been closer to 1100-1200 for the last 2 days (there is room to consume more but I just haven't needed to and for the record my SP range is at 1500-1900). Anyway, so far so good-great actually. We shall see how day 3 has me feeling. One more side note, since the Shred is about hormone balance, I incorporated more organic foods into my life this week. Double benefit!!

    Shredding sounds OK- I am interested in how that would work with having to feed other family members- sounds like a good single person plan.
