... what ever it is that you used to do that was good and healthy, namely some form of exercise. If you're like me, three babies and several years later, the body just doesn't like to do what it used to.
So, for me, I want to get back into riding my bike. I'd love to run but my ankles aren't ready for that yet, so I need to find an alternative. I used to live on my bike and at that time, I was skinny like a toothpick!
I started slowly, just tiny little rides because, well, um, ya. I'd almost need to wrap my seat in bubble wrap - let's just put it that way! I do have a gel seat, but I'm not going any further into detail on that. ;)
So, little rides, and I'd try for minimum once a day. If I missed a day, my body punished me for it when I'd get back out there. Now, I am much more comfortable - I think supporting muscle groups are critical. Oops, I got more into it - but that's as far as I'll go there!
Now, I'm starting to ride more than once per day. What a good idea! Rebuild those muscles without painfully overworking them. That's how I got so fit to begin with! I have childhood memories - I learned to ride my bike when I was seven and then I was allowed to ride to the end of our drive way (medium length driveway), so I did, about a million times per day! A little later, I was allowed to ride to the corner and back - we lived half way between two country roads, so a half-mile or so, each way? Slowly but surely, I became a bicycling machine! I'm going back to that! Why not?! Not just cycling, but push-ups and walking and maybe back to running one day, too! :D
So, what is it that you want to get back into? and how are you going to make it happen? We can do this! Keep on Baby Stepping!!! :D
