What a Wonderful Walk!

Monday, September 02, 2013

We had a great morning today. Thankfully, I'm blessed with a husband who almost enjoys house cleaning. So he does a lot around the house. This morning, he had everyone leave so he could wash windows and floors without worrying about where grandchildren might walk or touch while he was working. (And, NO, LADIES, he's not for sale)!

So David drove to the far end of Fulton's walking trail to drop Erik and me off. Then he drove to a parking lot partway along it. Erik and I walked 1.84 miles together, while David and Sean walked about 0.6 the other way and doubled back for a total of 1.2. We met at the parking lot, and David took both boys to the park that is there.

I kept going in the direction David and Sean had gone. I walked two more sections of the trail and then doubled back to the park. Grand total for me 4.3 miles, which is 0.2 more than if I'd walked the trail from one end to the other. Walking the whole trail has been an unmet goal for several months now. Even thought it wasn't end to end, I've now walked continuously for more than I've been working toward! So I'm counting that as a goal that is met.

It was a glorious day, at least a temporary end to our unseasonable heat wave. The A/C has been off all day, and life is good!
