Well, I made it out the door under my own steam!

My last official day of work was Friday, August 30. I still have a bit of vacation to work off, but the computer, the smartphone, and they keys and key cards have been handed in.

I am taking a few deep breaths, and transitioning some of my things (briefcase, lunch bag), and catching up on some sleep.

I have resisted the urge to impulsively fill my life with things to do (oh no, what am I going to do with the rest of my life!) and am contemplating additions to what I have planned already. I am exercising a bit more, and am pretty happy that those extra pounds are (slowly) disappearing.

First new thing, guitar lessons. I will likely sign up next week.

Ah, life is good......

Better late than...congratulations! I have some years left and have also realised that my pension will be so low that I won´t be able to quit work. Not happy over that but who knows - somtehing interesting might happen!

Oh, I'm so envious, even though I haven't really planned for some of what experts say I should have (like how to have a focus for my time). Retirement is a wonderful gift from the 20th century. Take advantage! For the rest of us. emoticon

Congrats to you! Hope you enjoy being retired as much as I do. I love knowing that I can do what I want when I want for the most part.

Enjoy your retirement. I am jealous. Not quite there yet - not sure when I will choose that route. I think it might be Freedome 99 for us. :))
Have fun.

congratulations on a well deserved rest. My friend retired in January, and has a very nice life. Everyday she goes to the gym, during the summer she went to the pool. Projects, like guitar lessons, and book club keep her mind sharp.
