My husband commented on all the under used fitness crap I got for Christmas, and rightfully so! It's one thing to have a variety and be using it. It's quite another not to be using any of it at all!
I've been watching a lot of TV lately. It's my power down time. I need it...lot of it! But the new me says I can sub a bit of the TV time with some fitness. So, I started a 21 day workout program yesterday on the easy setting (EA Fitness 2 for the PS3). Running around the virtual track doing high knees and kickups was serious cardio! The rest of the 20 minute workout was easy. Gold star! Hooray for getting off the couch!
My meals were decent too. I planned a splurge for breakfast. I had a bacon avocado omelette with hashbrowns, rye toast, and an iced coffee. Next time, I'll ask for egg whites and black iced coffee with a flavored creamer, so I can manage the extra calories. Lunch was a swiss turkey sandwich with chipotle mayo..oops, no veggies. Dinner was a premade Asian chicken salad ~600 calories. I also had two snacks: celery and hummus and Greek yogurt with strawberries and blueberries.
I closed out the day at 1800 cals. I was over the fat grams and low on the carbs. All in all, it was a good day. I maintained my willpower and either abstained from snacking or reached for a healthy one.
Bring on Day Two! Monday is a rest day for me, but it will be an active rest day with yard work, car wash, and housework.
Happy 245th day of 2013, aka Labor Day!
