Happy Labor Day, everyone!

I am enjoying the BLC23 pre-challenge challenges. They are keeping me motivated. The challenge actually begins around September 26 and lasts for 12 weeks, so practically through the end of the year. It looks like a great team with lots of interesting things going on -- after 22 rounds, I think they've got it down to a science! So far it's a highly-organized challenge which appeals to me. In other news, my heart rate is still ridiculously high when I exercise vigorously. Yesterday TC and I ran intervals and after a few miles my heart rate was up to 174 while his was at 139. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I hope I get some good news because we leave for our Machu Picchu hiking trip in TWO WEEKS!!

In preparation for the appointment tomorrow, I got out the paperwork from my tests last year. In February 2012 I had a bone density test and my weight was 169! Today it is 149. As a chronic yo-yo dieter I am very, very proud that I have lost that 20 pounds and am determined to keep them off and lose the last 15 pounds in 2013. I am excited and motivated. A lot going on this year still, a lot of reasons I could give for NOT being able to lose weight, but I am finally learning that nothing knocks me off track -- EXCEPT ME.

    Machu Picchu! Amazing! What a fantastic opportunity! (I've been drooling over your pictures of the Great Wall of China for over a year now!!!!) So glad you're working yourself up to a healthy visit there.

Somewhere I have pictures of me in Moscow at Red Square; not a pretty sight. That was "before" losing 140 lbs. I'd love to do that whole trip again now - I'd be leading the pack as we go up the bell towers in the Kremlin!!! WooHoo!

You go, girl! (But be careful of any strange llamas....)

    Hope the heart rate issues can get resolved. The great news is your awareness. Taking care of yourself and being body aware is will help you get answers.
emoticon on the 20 lbs. loss. You have maintained this for quite a while. sure you would like to get it lower...however you have made great strides in developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Kudos to you.

It probably seemed like lack of progress while losing so slowly but-
look-
TWENTY pounds gone forever now!
Hope you figure out your heart rate issue, my friend.
It takes a lot for me to get my heart rate up over 150 during intervals.

    The BLC challenge sounds really interesting! I'm currently checking it out. I might consider doing it but I WAS planning to take a challenge off with my busy semester coming up....we will see! You are definitely in a much better place as you head into this doctor's appt. I am sure they will have lots of positive things to say to you :)

By the way, which team are you registering for in the BLC challenge?
