Finally a good week

Monday, September 02, 2013

This week was great! My mom got her new lawyer and got thru probate court pretty fast! She is still having issues with what was covered the last few months of my dads life as far as insurance goes. Hopefully it's not as bad as we think. She has a new prospect coming to look at the office this morning to buy. I went yesterday and spent 9-10 hours there with her cleaning and getting it ready. Her friend came as well and helped which was so nice. Because my mom has hoarding issues and her friend was good at asking her if she NEEDED things. This has not been easy for her, throwing away stuff that she bought for a place she worked in for 36 yrs. She still feels like the boarders are gonna be back. She is having issues getting rid of things like brooms aww =( But we are getting through it and we threw out a lot yesterday. I dropped off 4 big black plastic bags of stuff at the homeless shelter thriftshop last night at 10 pm. Thank goodness for it being on my way home 1/2 mile from my house. My brother is still livid with me. He just seems angry all the time. My mom said he's angry with everyone and every aspect of his life. He is still really hurting. I just wish he would stop attacking her. She is so fragile right now and she can't handle it. My mom got rid of all of my dads plants except this one monster Bonsai tree that my dad loved to death. I figured if anyone is up to the challenge, it's me lol Wish me luck! I think we might need to read a book just to own this thing.

My work week was great! I feel like I finally found my groove with this job and I am really enjoying it. My coworkers seem awesome and if not I am learning to use my headphones more. I like that the job is active and there is no dull moment. Plus you meet brand new ppl everyday. Only challenge is waking up in the dark, but also I am usually done by 11 am so I can go home and nap. I also shot for my health food job this weekend as well. Shooting for a living feels awesome especially in a good situation this time.
Some photos from the farmers market for work

Lets talk food and exercise! I hit 6 fitness classes in the past week. I managed to get up and walk the dogs almost every morning last week even if we had to walk in the dark. Eating has been ehhh. I woke up weighing 154.8 this morning somehow. I will take it! Funny story yesterday, I went to this little mexican restaurant with my mom and her friend and I didn't know what to order the menu was epic. At the last minute I got this giant burrito with chicken instead of steak in it (Giant since I figured I would never eat again, since my mom eats once a day). It came and my mom was staring at it perplexed and said "How did you know what dad always ordered?" I ordered exactly what he always got with chicken instead of steak, just like him. He must have been there with us.

My mom sent me home with tons of peaches from her trees, my plan today is making peach pies!

Brighter skies on the horizon for you. Thanks for sharing your blog. I'm thinking of you and your dad's Bonsai. If anyone could take on the challenge it would be you! I know you can make that baby grow and flourish. Great job with the work outs. That's where I'm lacking, my eating hasn't been horrible, but I have yet to be on my bike in a long while. They ended up canceling the Niles's sort of a mystery why. Glad I didn't shell out the money and then lose it. Love your pictures as always. Keep trucking! Your job sounds like it really is giving you a lot of encouragement. Yay!

Sounds like a great week! I love that you got your dad's favorite burrito. :) :) :)

If you need a home for any more plants, let me know! The ones we have are doing well. Nacho and Bella like sitting out on the patio with them. :)

So Glad you had a better week. It's so touching that you are helping your Mom sort through things. It's just awesome seeing daughters supporting their Mom's. I can't imagine how hard it is for both of you.

I hope things continue to improve for you!

I am so glad to see things finally going well for your mom in some areas. With your support and that of her friend she will do okay. I hope the place sells. That would really be a burden off of her.

I tend to hang onto things too, like your mom. I think it's common to some women our age. Some of us become attached to things. My mom and MIL were that way. One of my close friends and my maternal grandma were not and they never kept much of anything. No keepsakes to speak of. I am trying to keep useful things and some things I love and let go of other stuff.

I hope your brother comes to grips with this soon. Grief is hard and some people get stuck in the anger phase and it prevents them from healing.

Love the tree. You should have it!

So glad you love the new job. Love the pictures!!

So cool that your ordered what your dad does. Those peaches sound great too!

I'm so glad things seem to be getting better. Any Mom would be grateful to have such a wonderful daughter you. You have been a huge support, worked tirelessly and have demonstrated extreme patience and kindness, all while dealing with your own grief. You make your Mom proud; I'm sure! Top it all off you're doing so well with your exercise AND working a new job. You are WOnder WOman for sure! emoticon
