Wow have a lot of things changed since I last blogged!
I have been going to school for my Masters. In fact I took three classes over the summer - I do NOT recommend that!!!
I ran my first half marathon in May. I met my goal of under 3 hours, but would have done a lot better if I hadn't gotten sick during the run. I've learned my lesson and Imodium is my friend!
I was also set up on a semi-blind date and we have now been together more than 3 months! Considering I haven't even dated in over 10 years, this is a major change! The fact that he is a dairy farmer and our schedules do not match very well has made for some interesting challenges.
After running the half marathon, I was in a boot for a couple of weeks. Too active for a boot so it didn't last as long as it was supposed to, but I haven't felt any repercussions yet. I've done two mud runs with a third coming up since then.
Between school, the new man, new roommate (not the new boyfriend), and being tired of training after the half marathon, I basically took the summer off. I started doing turbofire again a couple of weeks ago and am excited that the energy was still there and I am getting back into a fitness routine.
I ran my first 'long' run all summer this morning - although it was only a 5k - and am proud to say that my pace time is still fairly close to where I was before. Does that mean I wasn't pushing myself hard enough while training for the half?
I miss you guys! I won't be able to log in daily, but I'm going to work towards checking in at least weekly.
