Knee Follow-Up

Sunday, September 01, 2013

I remember now catching myself in a slip on a wet floor by an entrance (we've had some rain). I didn't fall. As MNTWINSGAL suggested, I most likely hyperextended it. I have been resting, icing and elevating. As it is not swollen, I haven't been wrapping it, although I will use a brace next week when I go back to work. Other than Church, I'm resting that knee. The pain level has decreased by about 1/4.

I appreciate the care and concern. As I've had arthritis in my knees for 43 yr and have had bone spurs removed from them in the past, I am no stranger to pain. I, also, am willing to acknowledge when 'something is different' and get appropriate treatment if conservative methods don't work.

Glad the pain is going down, but that really hurts. I know our son could have gotten his insulin, put it in a cooler with freezer bags and overnighted it. Couldn't convince him of that. Have a great relaxing Labor Day!

Glad to hear you're making progress. As my mom used to say, this getting older is NOT for wimps... even when you have dealt with something for over 40 years, there are twists and turns on the path. Glad you remembered that incident with the slip... could explain a lot!

I know what it's like to have knee pain, even though I had a total knee replacement in 1995 the pain tells me that i will have to have a revision.

Ouch, that had to smart doing that. I hyperextended my knee when doing a exercise video once. It hurt badly for awhile. No longer do that exercise video, that is for sure. My knees are bad too with osteoarthritis and it is hard to deal with at times! Feel better soon!
