Eating out.. Help!

So every Sunday we have a family meal at my mom and dads house, it's always a roast dinner but the meat varies.
We had beef today, and my mom knows I'm on a diet so did extra veg for me:)
I had half a plate of veg. My mom put me a big dollop of mashed potato, so I had a few spoon fulls. I did have to have a Yorkshire pudding though:)
So I came home and logged the calories on spark and was pleasantly surprised that despite being full, it wasn't as many calories as I thought! But it doesn't stop me feeling like I've slipped!
My next problem: in 2 weeks we go away for 5 days to Cornwall and I'm hoping that even though I won't be doing much exercise other than lots of walking, I'm hoping my diet isn't going to suffer when we're eating out!
I thought worst comes to worst I don't lose any weight, or even put on a lb, as long as I come home and get back to normal (with your support.. Don't let me quit!) then ill be ok!:)
I'm going to do extra exercise from now till then and make sure I eat a balanced diet so when I up my calories my body won't store them all! Lol:)
Talking for no reason again now:)
