I took last week off from Crossfit (and working out entirely). I didn't really plan it, but on Monday or Tuesday, I just decided to take off a week. I wasn't even feeling burnt out or anything, but I think taking a break every once and awhile is good for the body, mind, and soul :)
Today was my first day back.
2 Push Press +
1 Strict Press
I got up to 78# and failed at 83# twice. I wasn't really surprised though, since 83# is my current 1 rep max for the strict press.
AMRAP – 10 Minutes:
250 M Row
4 DB Thrusters (45/30)
8 DB Push Press (45/30)
12 Burpees (6″ touch)
I used 20# dumbbells and got 2 rounds + 21 (3 rounds minus 3 burpees).
Squat hold for stretch – 5 Minutes
Have you ever tried to do this? They programmed it a few weeks ago and I gave up about halfway through. Then we did it in mobility class and I did 5 minutes no problem (well, it was a bit uncomfortable). I almost passed out when I stood up though, so be careful if you try! TI was afraid it might happen again, but I was telling the guy next to me about it and he suggested just laying down first. Um...duh. Why didn't I think of that?
Tomorrow we're doing the Oly total (max snatch and max C&J). I'm excited! I think the regular CF total will be this week too. I'm not excited about that one (I've been doing way more Oly stuff than squatting, deadlifting, and pressing lately. Plus, my last one was after 3 cycles of strength class, so I bet my numbers might go down a little).
