Can you believe it's September 1 already???
DH and I went for a ride yesterday. Despite all the technical frustrations at the beginning, we pushed on and had an awesome ride. We took a road neither of us had been on before and had no idea where it would end up. Found several lakes, lots of forest, a couple tiny little towns with lots of character, and Mt McLaughlin.
Stopped along the way for a burger. Did you know that Carl Jr's will "Low Carb" any of their sandwiches by wrapping it in lettuce, rather than putting it on bread? A good choice for fast food break.
Oh, and by the way, the Quince jam and butter are excellent! Quince are VERY tart. The recipe called for one cup of sugar for every cup of quince pulp! I used 3 cups of sugar for 5 cups of quince, and it's just the way we like it. Still a lot of pucker.
Time for coffee in the hot tub on the back deck, then figure out which project to tackle for the rest of the day.
