Trying to get started again :(

Ugh, how life can throw us curve balls. I had been maintaining a 60 pound loss successfully by walking 2-3 times a week and sticking with my "you only eat if you're hungry" approach for about a year. Things had been going great then some stressful life events happened and I went immediately into food. I've gained 40 pounds in 4 months and I stopped walking, of course. It's embarrassing to admit that I use food as an emotional crutch. And it's scary at how quickly I gained weight.

So I'm back. I'm starting off slow again, trying to figure out easy changes I can make that I can stick with once again. I know this works. It's worked every time I've tried.

Today I'm going to start tracking my food again and maybe go for a walk. Each time I've started that's been an effective approach to getting me back in the habit of visiting and making positive changes, so I'm going to do that again. I may try to go for a walk, even if it's a short one, or maybe 10 minutes on the treadmill if I can get the boxes and stuff off it to get it working.

    Welcome back! Food is a comfort for many of us including me. Th e good thin is you are back and starting to get your balance back. Starting small is a great way to go. emoticon

    Hiya, hon! Yepper, it's harder than the very devil to get extra weight to budge - and seems to take mere moments for it to come back.

If there's one positive out of this, it's the fact that you get a 'do-over.' So figure out those mini-steps you need, and reboot.

    Wishing you to the best on reaching your goals. I'm a food addict, sugar addict and a compulsive overeater so I know what it's like to use food as a crutch. We're here for you. Take it one day. emoticon

    We're all here to encourage each other. It's good to see you again (although it is unfortunate what brought you back). Through team support, we'll help get those pounds off again. I have also gained some weight back over the last three months from slowing down. September 1st: great day to renew, review, and move forward.
