Well, this Labor Day weekend, I'm spending quality time with my family. This week, I have been nursing my ankle. I'm not sure what I did. I did not hurt it during a run. Ugh! So, today, I went out with my mother and aunt to see if I could get in a short run in. However, my ankle had other plans. It started to hurt at a pace of 10.25. So, I stopped. I ended up walking with a little running of 3.2 miles with my mother and aunt. I was so proud of my mother because we both ran down a particular hill on the path and she wasn't shortness of breath. She was able to talk to me. Now, I'm back to taking care of my ankle with the RICE method. I may not be able to run at my normal pace until I'm completely healed, but that's okay. Once more, if it means I will be doing some walking during that Half Marathon in November, then so be it! I'm determined to do that race with the goal of finishing it! In September and October, I will be taking it easy with my runs and continue to take care of my body as well as eating better.
