Well. I could not get my head and willpower in the game. I remembered when I did MRC weightloss several years ago they had a doctor not door who did the hcg part. Of course it was expensive so I chose not to do it.
I went to slim for life, was easily persuaded to commit to an 18 week plan. I decided I would do the hcg with it just to see and I am going to use it for the first 4 weeks since I already have it mixed.
Yesterday is the first day I was on the low cal plan (high for hcg - probably around 1200 or more) and added in all of the required elements and today my joints are so inflamed i can barely walk and am at this time soaking in a tub.
I am not angry with the center. I chose things ( very limited) that were gluten free but decided that short term all of the artificial sweetners and soy would be ok. Silly me!!
Well, I now know that soy and all of the other crap defiantly sets off my inflammatory response.
Luckily,I did not let them talk me into the 3700 dollars of products that would get me thru the program and only purchased a few boxes of things and supplements/far burners, etc.
I have decided that I will stop the snacks that have soy but stick with everything else for a few days and see how I feel. I am sure I can sell the boxes of bars to someone online who does not have inflammatory issues. They certainly taste wonderful!!
I am going to keep going to the center three days a week for weigh ins - which will help me keep on track. And I am going to keep up with the metabolizing stuff since it did not bother me during the prep phase.
I do not think they are an evil program as i read online(aAFTER i signed on the dotted line. Just be careful and do not cave under the pressure to buy everything. I am going to look for substitutes online that are comparable to their supplements.
I forked out about 900 dollars which is hard to swallow. But more so is the return to a world of daily pain. I had not realized how much my pain had diminished until I added all of the artificial crap back intoy diet.
So I am going to stick to the eating plan (other than the protein bars), take the vitamins, go in daily for weigh ins. And do an official detox diet from my doctor in a month or so.
Please, please tell your friends with chronic pain/ fibromyalgia to cut out artificial sweetners, soy, and gluten. THEY are horrible.
I am now consideri f going back for my nutricional medicine degree to supplement (no pun intended!) my physical therapy work with chronic pain clients.
