I used it as "still learning it's real" in the poem. To get that sense, I see I used it as a verb, the present tense of "to learn". Webster says this:
"learn vt. learned or learnt, learning 1 to get knowledge of (a subject) or skill in (an art, trade, etc.) by study, experience, instruction, etc. 2 to come to know [to learn what happened] 3 to come to know how [to learn to swim] 4 to fix in the mind; memorize 5 to acquire as a habit or attitude [to learn humility] ..."
I'll stop there, because clearly in the sense of "learning it's real", I'm trying to fix in the mind, to memorize my new lifestyle and habits. Yes, it takes time, it takes study, it takes experience, and sometimes it takes "a little help from my (Spark) friends". Going on a journey to transform one's life, it helps to have companions along the way. So we CAN learn from one another.
I'm still wrapping my brain around the fact that I've crossed a half marathon finish line four separate times with a bib on my chest and got an official time! I'm still learning that ME, being an athlete is REAL.
And for now... trying to chill, (scale free for a week tomorrow), store energy without undoing fitness, and be ready for the NEXT learning experience!
Spark a great Labor Day weekend, my friends!
