Quote & My Thoughts #2

Friday, August 30, 2013

My life has been one great big joke,
a dance that's walked, a song that's spoke.
I laugh so hard I almost choke
when I think about myself.
Maya Angelou

From a very early age, I always said that life is an absurd joke, and the joke is on me! Now, that's not a bad thing, although at times it certainly isn't too funny. (smiling)

Laughter has been as important as oxygen throughout my life. The cousin in the SP photo who was like a sister to me (in black) and I were total laughing fools together. Right up until she departed. And sometimes even now, I think of something we shared and laugh out loud. The one request she made of me was to think of her with happiness and good memories. My response to her was that I have nothing else to choose from. We never had one argument or cross word since early childhood!

Oh, how I miss her. But a sense of humor has been my primary survival talent. Like that song, "I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane."

The perfect Friend, sorry for your loss. I am sure she is near you in spirit. So when you have a fond memory and good laugh, just say her name. She will be there with you :)

I feel the same way about my cousin. We were like sisters as children - best friends. We talked about growing old together but it didn't happen.

I've always believed that saying "laughter is the best medicine". Laughter is good for the heart and the soul. I can just imagine the fun you and your cousin had....and now you have wonderful memories.

Memories are wonderful things aren't they. I have an elderly friend that is like your cousin. We often laugh ourselves silly. If I am driving her somewhere I have to pull over because we get to laughing so hard. What a wonderful gift she is to me!
