As I mentioned in my previous post, I am currently house sitting for my friend/co-worker who has a pool and a hot tub in her backyard, and I'm happy to report I have rediscovered my love of swimming. I haven't been swimming in awhile, but my favorite thing to do this week has been to get up, have breakfast and then go for a swim or, come home from work and immediately swim and sit in the hot tub for awhile. Such a refreshing way to start or end my day.
I was shocked to discover that 45 minutes of general swimming burns about 525 calories, that's insane to me, yet i can walk on a treadmill for a half hour and only burn 250 lol. I love my treadmill don't get me wrong, but it's not as much fun as swimming.
So long story short, I'm not really concerned about putting on much weight while I'm on holiday, because the hotel has 6 pools, a lazy river, and 2 jaccuzi's (I think), so I'll definitely be swimming everyday and boogie boarding in the ocean a few times.
I'm also happy to report, this has been the first week since restarting Spark that I've burned my allotted number of calories for the week. What am I gonna do next week?
