Been awhile

Friday, August 30, 2013

It's been a busy month. After having a successful week 1, I struggled with the rest of the month and didn't really put my all into it until the last week or so. As of this morning I'm down a total of 4.1 lbs. I really really really want to hit 5 lbs by tomorrow morning. I'm going to watch what I eat today and try to get some last minute exercise tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I did have a bit of an epiphany moment the other day. I was on my way to church and was thinking about my weight loss this month. I was feeling discouraged about "only" being down a couple pounds and felt that my 20 lb goal by Thanksgiving was not going to happen. Then I had a rather stern discussion with myself about how this was "only" the first month and that I was successful in losing some weight. I also told myself that my 20 lb goal was still completely doable especially since the weather will be getting cooler and I'll be able to get in more walking during the day (not a fan of walking at lunch when it's in the 90's and being stinky the rest of the day!).

So I've had a couple of good back on track days and am feeling good about my loss this month and look forward to working on the next 5 lbs in September. I CAN DO THIS!

congratulations for not giving up! I want to lose my last 15 pounds by the end of the year. Do you think we can motivate each other to meet our goals? You are off to a great start on your 20 pounds! I too am looking forward to the cooler weather. It was 100 degrees here today.

As long as the scale keeps going down consistently you're doing a good job. Enjoy the ride :)

Give yourself a big emoticon for your weight loss this month. But instead of just thinking about the number of pounds lost, think about how much better you feel, how much more energy you have and the positive steps forward towards a healthier lifestyle that you have made.
