Watching Ballet Videos
Thursday, August 29, 2013
I've been watching ballet videos on youtube. I so remember when I could do some of that and when I dreamed the rest was actually possible to accomplish. Now I just admire the beauty and hope one day at least some of my students will achieve it.
Anyway, today I taught an advanced mat class for my morning Pilates class. (Sidenote: I discovered videos on Pilates for ballet using stretch bands and foam rollers. Totally stoked to spend hours watching them at some point!) This afternoon I taught a baby "itty bitty" class, and a 5-7 year old class. We had much fun in the "itty bitty" class, but I had 2 out of 3 shed tears in the other class. We ended on a positive note though. I think I may have a class of perfectionists on my hands. I think I'm going to have to become a bit more encouraging with them. Then I didn't have my evening Pilates class because no one showed up.
Tomorrow is Friday!!! (*Happy dance*) That means I get to sleep in. But that also means that my exercise is not mandated by my work schedule. So, I'm hoping to get a run in sometime tomorrow, but it's not looking likely. There is a soccer match on campus, followed by a cross-country meet. Since my husband works for the university's athletic department, we like to support our student-athletes.
Have a great Friday Sparksters!
