For years now, you have been putting the needs of others ahead of your own. You have encouraged your children to pursue their goals and dreams and sat in the sidelines cheering them on. With the exception of Tom, your kids are grown and while you will always be their mom, the time has come to start pursuing your goals.
You have set aside your health and fitness goals for long enough. This is your time. Take this time to set goals that you can build upon that will have you on the path to a healthier lifestyle. Be your own life coach. Encourage yourself everyday. Don't wait for someone else to support and encourage you to eat healthy and workout. Do this for yourself because your family needs you around for many more years and creating a healthy lifestyle is a step in the right direction.
There will be rough days when you will want to give up. DON'T!!!! You are worth the hard work and the investment of time. I have faith that you can make more right than wrong choices. I believe that you can be an example to others that it is possible to be disciplined and self-controlled even when it hasn't been the natural way for you to act. When you need encouragement, read this letter. When you need support, talk yourself up.....write down what it is that you love about yourself and read it over so you know deep in your heart that you are worth it.
