6-week Postop Checkup

Monday evening was my 6-week postop checkup with my OB. I'm happy to say that my incision is healing nicely and I lost all the baby weight.

It's hard to believe that 6 weeks have passed already!

During those 6 weeks, a lot has happened. We are falling into a steady rhythm and getting to know our newest family member. I'm breastfeeding; so that has been a new challenge -- learning a new skill.

Now, I'm trying to focus on rebuilding my muscles and getting stronger. My doctor cautioned against overdoing it. She recommended taking a class for working out the core muscles.

I'm thinking of a yoga/pilates fusion class. Has anyone tried that? If so, can you provide feedback?

    Nope, but having done small bits of both yoga and Pilates, I can see it being just what you need right now. I'll check my DVD stash and see if I have such a thing. (I feel like I might.)

    As close as I've come was a yoga class taught by a pilates instructor because the regular yoga instructor was out sick. LOTS of core. Yoga was wonderful to me because it worked my entire body, including my core. It sounds like it might work well.

Glad to hear you are nursing and have lost all the baby weight - the nursing helps with that and the tummy too!

    I have not tried that, but it sounds like it could be interesting. Glad your post-op results were good.

I have been so busy I can't see straight...will be back at the long to-do list on Monday. New linoleum gets installed on Friday and I still have a few things to do to get ready.

    So glad to hear everything is going well!! Slow and steady. Don't overdo it.

I haven't taken any yoga classes but will be interested to hear what you find out and learn!

  great to read that you are doing great. time really does fly! my son is about to be 8 months on Tuesday!! Take care of your body and don't strain too much. Hope baby boy is great. Take care of yourself and continue to adjust to the new life with a lil one!
