When you Miss a Goal

I set a goal I was to meet by August 20th - my plan was to lose 5 pounds
. I didn't get it done.
So where does that leave me? Well, it's easy to get discouraged, we all know that. It's easy to just....
At least it was easy to do that in the past before I truly began my healthy journey. Something like this would have been just enough to derail me. "I give up," would have come so easily. But not anymore.
Now I evaluate what just happened. And I tweak my goal, keeping in mind where I struggled before (a trip, houseguests, etc.) and I set a NEW goal - 4 more pounds by September 20th! Later today I'm going to plan things out a little more but that's the
OK, that's set. Now where am I today? On track with calorie intake, on track with exercise (and I even threw in some light gardening in ), and in a pretty good place emotionally. It's a good day for new goals!
